Solutions for Private Clients

For private homeowners & second-home owners

Whether you live here year-round or spend part of the year on the Costa Blanca — we understand the particular needs of second-home owners: low-maintenance, water-conscious design that looks beautiful even when you're not here.

On-site consultation — garden, new build or bare plot

Two German landscape architects, rooted on the Costa Blanca, spend 2–2.5 hours on your property: survey, analysis, photo documentation — and a thorough conversation about your wishes and what is realistically achievable here.

Based on that, we develop two expressive freehand sketch variants at the drawing board.

Professional & Commercial Partners

For Architects

Landscape architecture as an integral part of the building design.

We work with building architects from the very first concept phase — not as an afterthought. On the Costa Blanca, landscape and building are inseparable: orientation, shade, water flow, views and outdoor living must be resolved together. We speak your language: CAD files, specifications, permit documentation and site coordination — in German, English and Spanish.

  • Collaboration from concept phase, not after permit
  • Outdoor space integrated with building design from day one
  • Municipal requirements: water management, drainage, green coverage ratios
  • Construction-ready plans, coordinated with your drawings
  • Site supervision and quality control
  • Trilingual documentation (DE / EN / ES)

For Developers & Promotoras

No friction on the construction side.

Thirty years of project experience across Central Europe means one thing for your development: no surprises. We deliver construction-ready landscape plans on schedule, coordinate with contractors, and handle municipal requirements — including water management obligations, which are non-negotiable on the Costa Blanca and increasingly scrutinised in planning approval.

  • Full landscape package for new-build developments
  • Water management planning (retention, irrigation, grey water)
  • Pool integration and outdoor amenity design
  • Coordination with architects, contractors and local administrations
  • Trilingual documentation for international project teams
  • 30+ years experience: zero learning curve, zero risk

For Contractors & Construction Companies

Planning you can build from.

We produce landscape plans that are complete, unambiguous and construction-ready — so your teams can work without constant clarification rounds. Details, quantities, planting lists, irrigation specs, material specifications: everything is there. We are also available for site supervision and quality sign-off if required by your client.

  • Detailed and construction drawings — no gaps, no interpretation needed
  • Full material and planting specifications with quantities
  • Irrigation and drainage plans
  • Available for site supervision and formal handover
  • Fast turnaround on revisions and RFIs
  • Experienced working with both local Spanish and international contractors

For the Hospitality Sector

A professionally designed outdoor space is not a cost. It's a revenue driver.

Guests on the Costa Blanca choose where they stay not just by location — but by atmosphere. A beautifully designed garden or pool area communicates quality before a single room is seen. We help hospitality properties translate landscape architecture into measurable business outcomes: higher nightly rates, stronger reviews, and a visual identity that justifies a star classification upgrade.

  • Outdoor areas that command premium room rates
  • Pool terraces, lounges & spa gardens designed for guest experience
  • Plantings that look beautiful year-round with minimal maintenance
  • Star-classification-ready exterior design
  • Lighting concepts for evening atmosphere
  • Full planning documentation for permits & contractors

The Studio

Costa Blanca Garden Studio is the direct continuation of Trillitzsch, Jost & Partner, the landscape architecture practice founded in Berlin in 1982. With up to 25 staff and projects across Germany, Austria and Central Europe, the office built a 33-year track record before Edelgard Jost relocated permanently to Spain. Costa Blanca Garden Studio carries that legacy forward — same principals, same standards, same precision — now rooted on the Costa Blanca.

Costa Blanca Garden Studio brings over 30 years of landscape architecture practice — built in Berlin, proven across Central Europe on projects from private estates to large-scale commercial and infrastructure developments. No learning curve. No experimentation. Established professional practice, now permanently based on the Costa Blanca.

Dipl.-Ing. Alma Edelgard Jost

From 1973 I studied landscape planning at the Technical University of Berlin. After completing my degree as a graduate engineer, I founded the landscape architecture office Trillitzsch, Jost & Partner, which carried out projects of all sizes across Central Europe until 2020 with 25 employees.

I have been living in Spain for over three years now, where I have been able to further deepen my knowledge of Mediterranean flora.

My style: clear, modern-minimal, precisely planned and adapted to the Mediterranean context.

Nicolás Leonard Jost – Co-Director

I was born in Berlin in 1987 and grew up with my mother's office. A passion for plants, spaces and designed landscapes has accompanied me since early childhood.

I studied landscape planning in Hanover and moved to València five years ago – today I live and work permanently on the Costa Blanca as Co-Director of Costa Blanca Garden Studio.

As a representative of the younger generation, I bring fresh perspectives to a studio that builds on more than 30 years of professional experience.

Before & After — Calpe, Costa Blanca

Chaos out. Living quality in. We turned a dangerous, overgrown garden in Calpe into a clear, safe and beautiful outdoor space – with a slim steel cable railing, new pool stairs, a second seating area and much more usable space. More room. More safety. More enjoyment.

Before

A classic Costa Blanca mess: completely overgrown, dangerous narrow passages along the house, heavy old balustrade, almost no usable space, visible technical equipment and crumbling walls. A garden that felt uncomfortable – and where the owner actually fell.

After

Clear structure, safety and real quality of life. Heavy old balustrade replaced by slim anthracite steel cable railing (open views + lightness). New, comfortable stairs to the pool instead of a tight 50 cm corridor. Second separate seating area at the back for family or guests. Much more space, clear paths and walkable areas with Mediterranean grasses, rosemary and fragrant herbs. Crumbling wall and heat pump discreetly covered with plants. Ambient and mood lighting on the stairs and seating areas for warm evenings. The garden now extends from the living room all the way to the end of the property – safe, pleasant and actually usable. Exactly what you want with 300 sunny days a year.
